Abstract

In an interview between Ma Wenqi and Wang Qi with Luo Wei, the director of the episodic version of Waiting for Godot, we see that director Luo Wei believes that in the play Waiting for Godot only the balance of power is broken and only power is shifted, which he feels is a very deep metaphor in Mr. Beckett’s entire play. Some people in the play are waiting, some are bound, some are tied to others. So is the world lovely? Is this situation of life worth it? This is the question that Lo Wei wants to ask, and perhaps it is also the question that Mr Beckett asks.
